Block 2 on the Louvau Vineyard has always been one of our favorite sections of the vineyard: steep slopes, well-drained rocky soils, and small yields of intensely flavored fruit. Although these vines at 30 years old are relatively youthful, they’ve always produced some of the darkest, and most ripe-tasting wines on the entire site. 

The West Vineyard has long been one of the major components vineyards of our Dry Creek Reserve Zinfandel. These head-trained old vines always produce one of the biggest and darkest Zinfandels we make and we realized it was a perfect wine for a single vineyard offering. The wine is big, explosively aromatic, and quite rich in both mouthfeel and texture.

This high-elevation mountain vineyard is located on Bradford Mountain, on the east side of Dry Creek Valley.  Planted and tended by Fred Peterson, a renowned viticulturist and winemaker, this vineyard produces tiny quantities of grapes. An exceptional Zinfandel with bright flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, and pomegranate, the Peterson Vineyard Zinfandel has the structure and acidity to accompany a wide range of foods, and the beautiful spice and fruit aromatics of a world-class wine. 

The volcanic soil of the rocky and steep vineyard provides us with some of the most concentrated, intensely flavored grapes of any of the vineyards that we source from. This wine was made exclusively for our Wine Club Members after the first-time 2016 vintage Single Vineyard release from the Lily Hill Vineyard, was such a hit with many of our members.
